Carter & Megan

Hello! My name is Megan, and this all started when I discovered Kerry Blue Terriers after meeting a gal named Monica, in 2008. Little did I know then how close we would become and she would eventually start me on the path I am on today. I fell in love with her young puppy girl named Dottie. She was sweet as the dickens and was such a character. I didn’t know one dog could have that much personality! The more Monica brought her to work with her the more I thought. This could be the breed for me. I started dog sitting for Monica, a short while later. And I think it took all of one day for me to be convinced, I wanted a Kerry Blue Terrier! Now I thought I should just see if I could have Dottie, we had a close bond already. And I knew Monica could see it, but alas it wasn’t going to be that easy. Monica said you can’t have Dottie she’s my girl but how about when I breed her you could take one of the puppies. I thought to myself, What was the next best thing to actually having dottie?? Having one of her puppies, of course, So after some thought, I agreed. When it came time for her to have puppies I definitely wanted one. Naturally, I then became curious about all the maintenance that went into these fantastic creatures. Monica is a groomer so all of her dogs look fantastic. One day I asked her if she could help me to learn how to groom them or at least show me enough so that when I get my puppy I could properly maintain her. Those patient, patient dogs stood like perfect angels while I fussed over them for probably hours. I eventually found out this grooming thing is pretty fun and I really enjoy helping them to feel their best. So I asked Monica if she would also be willing to show me how to groom other dogs. I eventually apprenticed with her and learned the basics of dog grooming. And today am a Nationally certified master groomer, who has competed and placed on the national level in grooming competitions.

Eventually, my Keeva was born, I was able to see all the puppies from her litter grow up and watch how fast they change. From learning to walk to seeing how muddy they could get in the yard. As part of my contract with Monica was I showing Keeva in AKC conformation and earn her championship title. I thought oh boy.. that might be too much, I’m not sure I’d enjoy that. But much to my surprise. I really enjoyed showing her as well as the social aspect of showing. Kerry people were so nice, giving advice on trimming, training, and just the camaraderie of the sport in general. Monica also wanted to breed Keeva since she was so true to breed standard and has a lovely temperament. I agreed as I figured she had done so much for me it was the least I could do. Well obviously since your ready this on my website you could probably already guess I fell in love with puppy raising. It is so rewarding to help shape and mold the dogs of tomorrow through both purposeful breeding, as well as gentle raising.

From that modest start, I have since gone on to produce two litters on my own. Having several champions in conformation as well as performance titles. I have produced/groomed/handled the winners Dog at the prestigious Montgomery county kennel club. Had puppies win and take reserve best in the futurity amongst dogs from the top breeders in the country. As well as had several group placements. Also, we have had many go on to be great pets who are voted #1 in their owners’ eyes.
